The 2025 NANBIOSIS Networking Event brought together representatives from its 26 specialized units across Spain to strengthen collaboration and discuss new opportunities within the national research infrastructure. This year’s meeting took place from the October 22nd to 24th, at the facilities of the Centro de Cirugía de Mínima Invasión Jesús Usón (CCMIJU) in Cáceres, one of the three main nodes of NANBIOSIS alongside CIBER-BBN and Bionand.
From the ICMAB-CSIC, members of the SOFT Materials Service—part of Unit 6 of NANBIOSIS—participated in the event. The team was represented by José Amable Bernabé, Guillem Vargas and Mariana Köber. The SOFT Service includes both technical staff and scientific personnel, several of whom are part of the Nanomol-bio research group.
The programme featured presentations from the Scientific and Technical Directors, updates on ongoing activities, and discussions to reinforce cooperation among units. For the SOFT/U6 team, the meeting was a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise with colleagues, explore new avenues for joint work, and contribute to the continuous strengthening of NANBIOSIS as a reference infrastructure in nanomedicine and biomaterials. Participants also had the chance to visit the CCMIJU facilities, including its specialized laboratories and animal housing unit, gaining insight into the centre’s technological capabilities and research environment.
